Kalmia is native to rocky woods, cliffs. It forms a large rounded shrub supported by several trunks. The leaves are typically 2-3 inches long and tend to be a rich glossy green, even in winter. Requires a strongly acidic soil and a moist humid climate to survive. It can be used as specimen plant, screening and/or bog areas. Kalmia, Sarah has red buds open to a bright pink flower that continues to bloom over a long period of time. Dense, compact rich green foliage, this plant prefers more sun than other varieties. A great addition to any landscape.
