Valley Forge Trout Unlimited

 

Chester Springs, PA – March 2, 2018 – Yellow Springs Farm LLC (YSF), is a family farm business focused on conservation landscaping with native plants, and an artisanal goat dairy selling goat cheeses and yogurts to local communities and restaurants. YSF recently released Pickering, its newest  goat cheese aged in the Alpine tradition in a 19th-century stone bank barn.This cheese won a blue-ribbon at the 2018 PA Farm Show Cheese Competition. . It is named in honor of Pickering Creek, the high-quality watershed where the farm is located. 

“YSF is pleased to announce that we will be donating a portion of our Pickering cheese proceeds to support The Valley Forge Trout Unlimited (VFTU), an organization dedicated to preserving, reconnecting, and restoring trout habitat in Chester County, Pennsylvania,” stated Al Renzi, Co-owner of Yellow Springs Farm.”

Valley Forge Trout Unlimited is an active chapter effectively working to:

  • Conserve, reconnect and restore cold water fisheries and their watersheds, principally in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
  • Encourage proper land, water, fish and wildlife management and conservation.
  • Promote and assist in the education of all citizens as to the need for preservation of the environment in as natural state as possible.
  • Promote the philosophy, objectives and activities of Trout Unlimited.

About Yellow Springs Farm

Yellow Springs Farm is a Native Plant Nursery and Artisanal Goat Cheese Dairy founded by Catherine and Al Renzi, in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania. The farm and nursery consists of an historic farmhouse, dairy barn, and a springhouse with a pond on eight acres of land. Originally a dairy farm 160 years ago, the Renzi’s purchased the farm in 2001 protecting it from future development with a conservation easement.
