Stormwater is one of our area's biggest environmental issues, and rain gardens are an innovative, beautiful, and increasingly popular solution. Rain gardens collect and hold rainwater during storms, and feature plants that thrive in moist conditions; they allow runoff to filter slowly into soil while attracting birds and butterflies. Catherine Renzi of Yellow Springs Farm, a local native plant nursery, leads a hands-on workshop on backyard rain gardens. After an indoor presentation, we'll go outside to discuss siting rain gardens. Refreshments will be served.
Co-sponsored by the Radnor Conservancy. Pre-registration is required. Park in the public parking lot in Rolling Hill Park and meet at the Conservancy's cottage. Event runs from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
